The return of a classic

Updated: 2 days ago

Back in the early nineties, squash in Wales was thriving, thousands of amateur players, the Welsh Wizards dominating the UK league, and the iconic Leekes Welsh Classic bringing the world’s best to Cardiff. Check out my history of squash in Wales.

Now, it's time to put Wales back on the global squash map.

With our current crop of elite players, including former World No.9 Tesni Evans and current World No.4 Joel Makin; there has never been a better moment to bring a PSA World Tour event back to the capital.

My vision is to host a truly world-class event that not only showcases top-level squash but also leaves a lasting legacy across the country. I want this to be Wales’ event; one that belongs to every player, every club, and every fan who has ever stepped on a court.

But I can’t do it alone. I need you. https://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/p/welsh-open-squash-classic

That’s why I’m reaching out to clubs across Wales to ask for your support. Whether it’s spreading the word, engaging your members, helping us connect with local sponsors, or just sharing your ideas; your involvement could play a key part in making this dream a reality.

The aim is simple: to deliver a squash spectacle that boosts our sport’s visibility, inspires the next generation, and helps every club in Wales benefit from the buzz, excitement, and media attention that comes with a major tour event.

If you'd like to be part of this journey, I’d love to hear from you.

Let’s show the squash world what Wales can do. I am looking to raise monies for the events through sponsors and crowdfunding. https://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/p/welsh-open-squash-classic

Want to help us, why not check out the Sponsor Deck and spread the word.
